OUR WEIMARANER PUPPIES BORN AT THE CHÂTEAU

Guests coming frequently to Château de la Barre over the 18 years we have opened to the public will have met our succession of Weimaraner dogs and know our love for this breed. Lorka, Diva, and now Margaux, the most beautiful of all. So we decided, together with regular guests who have a magnificent male Weimaraner, Odon, to take advantage of the various lockdowns to start our own breed, which is now called the "Grey of Saint Louis". We enjoyed "celebrating" Margaux and Odons' engagement (with a few good bottles from our cellar), then wedding (some champagne) and during the entire night of May 11th to 12th, Margaux gave birth to 8 splendid little Weimaraner puppies. Odon now lives with his son, Sirius, and we have Margaux' daughter with us, Soleil, and a real sun she is! All other six have found wonderful, loving homes, and two have already returned to visit since adoption this summer. A dog family reunion in our park! We have been repeatedly asked for a second litter, since the wait list was much longer then the available puppies, but have not yet decided whether, in full season, we will all have the energy again. 8 puppies for 3 months is quite an undertaking for all, especially dear Margaux, who was a fabulous mom!
