The prestigious Chambre Marin, with its king size canopy bed, exquisite fabrics and important furniture, is a lost paradise of elegance and vastness.

It has three windows overlooking the garden and park, and a large, elegant en-suite bathroom, “Le Salon d’Eau”.

Marin de Vanssay, the husband of the great grand-daughter of the builders of famous Loire Valley castle Chenonceau, added this wing on to Château de la Barre to inhance his prestige in the late XVIth century.

Facing the imposing century-old oak wardrobe stands an important and important XVIIth century Florentine mirror towering over a magnificent XVIIIth century french Régence commode. The luxurious gold and royal blue Rubelli fabric complements the remarkable furniture and the embroidered linens of this princely room.

A most elegant adjoining small double room, Chambre Louis XV, can be added upon request, creating a vast suite.

Le Salon d’Eau is a drawing room that would be a bathroom… Three magnificent tapestries, a Louis XVI commode with a double sink, an area for reading on an elegant Louis XVI armchair, Hermes toiletries… Experience bathing like an art.
